May 4, 2026 – The second round of the Michelin Le Mans Cup took place this weekend at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet. It was a challenging meeting for R-ace GP, but one that still ended with an excellent second-place finish for the Duqueine D09 #85.
Free Practice
On Friday, the #85 (Peugeot-Frost) and the #86 (Scoular-Bühler) finished P7 and P16 respectively during FP1. Later in the day, both crews improved their lap times and ended the session in P3 (#85) and P9 (#86).
Qualifying
On Saturday at midday, the team endured a difficult qualifying session. Caught in traffic, the #86 driven by Zack Scoular and the #85 led by Enzo Peugeot could do no better than P6 and P10.
Race
The race got underway at 6:20 PM. Léna Bühler in the #86 made an excellent start and quickly moved up to fourth position. Moments later, major scare for Danial Frost in the #85, who narrowly avoided a collision between two competitors. While the #86 climbed into third place, the #85 dropped down the order to 14th position.
Around ten minutes before the pit window opened, the #85 began its comeback and fought its way back into the top 10. Enzo Peugeot and Zack Scoular then took the wheel for the #85 and #86 respectively.
Scoular was running in second position, while Peugeot steadily closed in on his rivals. Just as the #86 looked capable of fighting for victory, a rear wing issue forced Zack Scoular back into the pits. Despite attempts to repair the problem, the #86 was ultimately forced to retire.
In the closing minutes of the race, Enzo Peugeot capitalized on a rival’s mistake to take second place, securing a podium finish alongside teammate Danial Frost.
All eyes on Le Mans
Although far from an easy weekend, the #85 nevertheless managed to retain the championship lead. The team now heads to the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit in one month’s time for the third race of the season.
