FRMEC: New victory and podiums for R-ace GP in Abu Dhabi Akshay Bohra Ugo Ugochukwu

15 and 16 February 2025, Abu Dhabi – The R-ace GP team added a win and two podium places to its tally in Formula Regional Middle East, during the fourth and penultimate round of the season. 

Race 1

Qualified third, Ugo Ugochukwu (#7) gained one position to cross the line second. Enzo Deligny (#1) and Akshay Bohra (#3) both finished in the top 10: 7th for the Frenchman and 10th for the Indian American. Jin Nakamura (#2) finished 14th after making contact on the first lap.

Race 2

Starting from pole position, Akshay Bohra turned this opportunity into victory, his first of the championship. Enzo Deligny took 5th place ahead of Ugo Ugochukwu in 10th and Jin Nakamura in 12th.

Race 3

The final race of the weekend ended with another podium finish for Ugo Ugochukwu, who crossed the chequered flag in third place. The podium slipped through the fingers of his team-mate Enzo Deligny, who finished 4th. Jin Nakamura finished 10th, while Akshay Bohra was 22nd.

Third in the team championship, R-ace GP can still score some precious points. See you on 27 and 28 February for the final round in Qatar.

8 and 9 February 2025, Dubai – R-ace GP’s efforts finally paid off this weekend in Dubai, at the third round of the Formula Regional Middle East. The French team took two wins in races 1 and 2, as well as a second place in race 3.

Race 1

Having qualified third, Ugo Ugochukwu (#7) took the lead and quickly extended his lead over his rivals. Despite several incidents and the safety car coming out, the leader kept a cool head. Later, a crash brought the race to a premature halt, which ended with Ugo Ugochukwu’s victory. Enzo Deligny (#1) finished 8th, followed by Jin Nakamura (#2) and Akshay Bohra (#3), 10th and 11th respectively.

Race 2

Jin Nakamura started from pole position* and dominated the race from green light to chequered flag, giving R-ace GP its second win of the weekend. Ugo Ugochukwu finished 5th, Akshay Bohra 6th and Enzo Deligny 8th.

Race 3

Ugo Ugochukwu was once again on the podium, this time in second place. Enzo Deligny crossed the line in 4th place, while Jin Nakamura finished 12th and Akshay Bohra 18th.

These excellent results allow R-ace GP to climb to third place in the team standings.

The fourth round of the championship will take place in Abu Dhabi on 15 and 16 February.

22 and 23 January 2025, Abu Dhabi – Another mixed weekend for R-ace GP in Formula Regional Middle East. While victory seemed within reach in race 3, the team had to settle for third place, secured by Enzo Deligny. However, there is still hope for the championship, as everything is still to play for, and the drivers’ pace improved considerably during this second round.

18 and 19 January 2025, Abu Dhabi – The first weekend of racing in Formula Regional Middle East did not allow R-ace GP to express its full potential. With a third place in race 2 as their best result, the team, determined to defend their title, is already pulling out all the stops for the next round.
