7 July 2025 – The FRECA grid met at the Hungaroring this weekend for the fourth round of the championship. It was a positive round on the whole for the R-ace GP team, which added a pole position and a new podium to its tally, and maintained its third place in the overall championship standings.
The momentum for the French team began to build in Friday’s collective testing session. Jin Nakamura (#11) shone in the first session, setting the fastest time of 1:39.242. His team-mates Enzo Deligny (#23) and Akshay Bohra (#31) were not far behind, in 4th and 6th positions. In collective testing 2, Enzo Deligny was 3rd, followed by Akshay Bohra 4th. Jin Nakamura finished 8th.
Qualifying and Race 1: Deligny gives R-ace GP a fourth podium finish
On Saturday morning, the three drivers took part in Group A* qualifying. Enzo Deligny set the second fastest time in the group, while Akshay Bohra and Jin Nakamura finished 4th and 8th respectively.
The race started later in the afternoon. Enzo Deligny got off to a good start, fought his way to the front and finished on the third step of the podium, the fourth for R-ace GP since the start of the season. Akshay Bohra finished in the top 10 in 8th place, while Jin Nakamura crossed the line in 14th.
Qualifying and race 2: frustrating results for the team
Enzo Deligny hit the ground running in qualifying for race 2 on Sunday morning. The Franco-Chinese took pole position for the race, setting the fastest lap of both groups and of the weekend in 1:37.296. Akshay Bohra finished 3rd and Jin Nakamura 7th.

At the start of the second and final race of the weekend, Enzo Deligny remained in the lead. Akshay Bohra, 5th on the grid, retained his position, while Jin Nakamura dropped back slightly. An initial incident brought out the yellow flag.
After an uneventful restart, contact between Jin, then 13th, and a rival relegated the Japanese driver to the back of the race. Hit by mechanical problems, Enzo Deligny lost two places in the closing stages of the race and crossed the finish line in 3rd place. Akshay Bohra was 5th and Jin Nakamura 25th.
Enzo Deligny was disqualified for ignoring safe driving instructions. Akshay Bohra finished just off the podium in 4th place.
R-ace GP keep its 3rd place in the overall team rankings. The team will be back on track in less than two weeks at Le Castellet for the fifth round of FRECA.
