19 May 2025 – R-ace GP came out on top at the second round of FRECA, held this weekend at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium. After very good results in collective practice and qualifying, the team took its first two podiums of the season with Enzo Deligny. The Franco-Chinese driver finished third in race 1 and took a superb victory in race 2.
The race weekend got underway with some promising performances in collective test. In the morning, Enzo Deligny (#23) finished second, closely followed by Jin Nakamura (#11) in third. Akshay Bohra (#31) was seventh. Positions were a little more scattered during the afternoon’s session: Enzo Deligny was P4, Jin Nakamura P11 and Akshay Bohra P13.
Qualifying and Race 1
On Saturday, the two qualifying sessions* for Race 1 were cancelled due to extensive damage following an accident. The starting grid was determined on the results of collective test 1, which put Enzo Deligny and Jin Nakamura in good positions on the grid.
Enzo Deligny took the lead from the start of the race and dominated the first half. Despite a strong defence, he finished 3rd and scored his first podium of the season. Akshay Bohra finished P7 and Jin Nakamura P16.
Qualifying and Race 2
On Sunday, all three drivers put in solid performances in qualifying 2: Enzo Deligny and Akshay Bohra were second and third respectively in their group. Like his team-mates, Jin Nakamura also set the third fastest time in his group.
The start of the second race was chaotic, but Enzo Deligny kept his cool and took the lead. The Franco-Chinese driver put up a fierce fight to hold on to first place, overtaking several times. His determination paid off, as he crossed the finishing line victorious and handed his team its first win of the season. Jin Nakamura crossed the line in fourth place, but received a penalty which dropped him back to 7th place. Akshay Bohra finished 15th.
R-ace GP will return to competition on 7 and 8 June for the third round of the championship at Zandvoort in the Netherlands.
