15 December 2025 \u2013 For its last race weekend of 2025, R-ace GP took on a brand-new championship<\/a>. It was in Sepang, Malaysia that the Vend\u00e9e-based team made its debut in the Asian Le Mans Series. A weekend full of challenges, during which the team\u2019s Duqueine #85 took part in its very first 4-hour races.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Free Practice<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On Friday morning, the Duqueine D09 #85, driven by Fabien Michal, Hugo Schwarze, and Pierre-Alexandre Provost, finished 7th in Free Practice 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the afternoon, the crew improved and ended 3rd in the second session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qualifying<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

On Saturday morning, bronze driver Fabien Michal qualified the #85 in 5th position for both races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race 1<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The first race started in the early afternoon. While moving up through the field, the #85 was hit by a competitor in the first lap. With significant rear-end damages, the car was forced into the pits for about twenty minutes to carry out the necessary repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The #85 returned to the track but found itself at the back of the field despite the mechanics\u2019 quick work. Later, another incident forced a second pit stop for further repairs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The car crossed the finish line in 8th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Race 2<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sunday afternoon\u2019s second race got off to a smooth start. The #85 showed strong pace and, after one hour, was running in the top 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Changing track conditions kept the team on their toes. Switching between dry and wet conditions led to multiple pit stops, dropping the #85 down the order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a dramatic final stint under heavy rain, Hugo Schwarze pushed the car back up to 6th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weekend Recap<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Although the results were not what the team had hoped for, every race was a learning opportunity. The team is still adapting to the intense, technical, and demanding 4-hour format.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nonetheless, the Michal\u2013Schwarze\u2013Provost crew showed great potential over the weekend. Next goal: work hard to perform even better in the upcoming rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
